Facebook Economics

Darren Herman’s blog points me to an interesting piece about how Facebook’s valuation might possibly be equated.

  1. There are 849,142,168 installs across 16,192 apps on Facebook with over 200,000 developers currently evaluating the platform.
  2. These applications were used 34,175,797 times in the last 24 hours and have a combined valuation of $425,362,656.
  3. Facebook had approximately 68 million Unique Active Users in the past 30 days and a valuation of $20 billion.
  4. This translates to $300 per active user.

The site, Facebook Adonomics, they come up with a tool for Facebook Analytics. And Business 2.0 has an article about Facebook economy that shares an interesting four steps to make money from those Facebook Apps.

Emm… I just had all my Facebook applications removed. So guess I won’t be the one who contributes much on its economy, except the poking traffic.
