Bring Sexy Back To B2B

09.13.08 | Comments

My blog post has been taken a long break. The last post was done a month ago when I was in China during the Olympic opening. This one is written on the plane while I am heading back Hong Kong from San Francisco.

Between these two blog posts, I’ve involved in a couple of exciting B2B projects. Frontiers Digital is appointed by Reed Exhibition as the official interactive agency for its Asia premier trade show – Asian Aerospace Expo 2009.  Our SEO team has designed a tactical framework to optimize the official trade show website. What really excites me is, we are developing a B2B social networking site for the show.

I was once a member of trade show industry, spent a great deal of time in trade show organizer business. I feel excited to see how trade show organizers are gearing up to build online community. They have been the experts in vertical community building, hosting virtual exhibition for almost a decade. Now, we are about to see how B2B in this region progress into Web 2.0. Never too late.

Frontiers Digital also teams up with OMD and TBWA to provide behavioral targeting solution for the world biggest sourcing event – the Canton Fair.  The advertising campaign targets 14 countries, executed using a hybrid of IP, content keywords, SIC classification, and significant end-to-end cookies for targeting and re-targeting, tags along the buyers traveling pattern. In my experience, I’ve never done such tactical buyer marketing for trade show.

We also work for the Hong Kong biggest B2B media- HKTDC in the re-opening campaign of Design Gallery. We’ve created the first enhanced podcast in the region for HKTDC.  The participants of the opening ceremony will be able to “watch and listen” the selected HK design products in the iPod. The shoppers can even get a barcoded discount coupon that is synced and displayed in their iPod via the podcast.

I used to comment B2B marketing is running behind the digital practice. Not anymore, I am happy to see the above development, which really brings the sexy back to B2B. If you want to know how far that we can do B2B in a hip way? Here I have one more sharing:
