Kevin Huang, the CEO of Pixel Media, just dropped me a note for the HKTDC – Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Pixel Media party. Kevin’s company, Pixel Media, is one of the most successful Internet advertising networks in the region. Kevin is a long-time respectable expert in digital media industry. He throws a party to celebrate his company Pixel Media has just appointed by HKTDC.COM as the preferred sales partner. Congrats to Kevin and to HKTDC.COM. I am happy to see this exciting partnership is going to open a new chapter for the B2B online advertising business in the region.
It has been years and decade that we all see the B2B media are practicing online advertising with weird metrics. Everyone is basically adopting the print model for online. Advertising is rarely sold on impression. I remember a famous joke about a question like this was raised during a media presentation, “how much that costs to buy an advertising space in the last page of Google.com?” This is now a history.
Competition among all the major B2B media players are not easy. It is a tough market especially when B2B in this region, where the buyer-driven market is always fastened with the up and down of the global economy. But, having said that, it is also the competition that keeps everyone to stay competitive through innovation and improvement of the business practice.
Recently HKTDC.COM is going through a major revamp. My firm, Frontiers Digital, is helping the council to market HKTDC.COM to the overseas market. Pixel Media is now leading the sales for HKTDC.COM. Although the economic outlook is still tough, we all are gearing up to face the vibrant challenge.
